Kukerov Den Documentary photography

I just love to photograph this festival, the Kukerov Den this old ritual which is performed ever year around Cities, Towns and Villages of Bulgaria. Dressed in colourful costumes and hand made masks the sound of cow bells that hang around the waist as they dance their routine to music.The weekend is full of portrait and documentary images this is a truly an event that cries to the photographer.
Spending Saturday at the festival were teams from all over Bulgaria, Eastern Europe and Europe travel to Yambol to complete it is a truly colourful festival. Sunday will be spent in a traditional village in the mountains with modals wearing tradition dress costume this is the ideal time to top up your colourful portraits with lovely backdrops. Free time on evenings to explore the town with your camera and soak up the atmosphere.The weekend is ideal for the Digital SLR or compact user. Photographic skills level from newbie to advanced Cliff will be on hand all weekend for help and information. I have visited this event for the last few years last years an always come away with some new images. Sadly the 2010 event it rain all day I try my best to book sunny days, the teams performed wonderful and entertained the crowds.
